THE UNION’S OBJECTIVES ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT BATH SPA UNIVERSITY FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY:
-
promoting the interests and welfare of students at Bath Spa University during their course of study and representing, supporting and advising students;

being the recognised representative channel between students and Bath Spa University and any other external bodies;

providing social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities and forums for discussion and debate for the personal development of its students.
Vision-2013
The Union’s vision for July 2013 is to be a welcoming, inclusive and responsive student led organisation with a commitment to participation and involvement, and serving and representing the diverse needs of the student body in a professional manner.
The Union shall strive to meet the following criteria that constitute the vision by July 2013.
The Union:

Enhances the overall student experience.

Represents all students equally, fairly and professionally.

Provides quality services for our diverse membership

Effectively campaigns on behalf of and unites the diverse membership behind causes of common benefit.

Effectively raises awareness and communicates to the whole student population.

Engages students to facilitate their personal development through providing a diverse range of extracurricular activities and life changing opportunities.

Is financially sustainable.

Develops staff to be motivated, dedicated, engaged and effective.

Constantly identifies the demands of a dynamically changing student population and provides for them.

Strives to be an environmentally and ethically sound organisation
It is the aim of this plan to deliver this vision through strategic objectives that will filter down and impact on all areas of the Union at an operational level affecting all staff, officers and representatives.

Minimum of 15 campaigns undertaken per year by Union Representatives or in association with the Union.
