► Join A Club/Society

Join a Sport or Society

Clubs and societies are open for everyone!

We want everyone to be able to join a sport or a society, so if you have any problems don’t hesitate to email Dan Jones, su-activities@bathspa.ac.uk  and he will try to accommodate you as much as possible. To reap the benefits of being part of a society you have to join officially, it only costs a small amount but then you get any of the free stuff available to members of that particular society, and you help fund the society, making your experience even better.

There should be nothing stopping you!

3 Simple steps to joining a Club/Society

  1. Take a look at what clubs/societies are on offer and choose which ones to join and how much they cost.

  2. Complete a Memberdship Details Form. Click here to download form or pickup a copy from the Union Office.  Save time and SIGN UP ONLINE if you are joining a AU Club.

  3. Return the completed form to the Union Office, along with the membership fee.

YOU ARE NOW A MEMBER!

If you have lessons on a Wednesday then it has been agreed between The Union and the University that you will be allowed to miss it. THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE.

To be eligible to miss your Wednesday afternoon lessons without penalty form the university, you have to join your societies. The university makes exception for volunteering, but you need to join your club or society. Any lessons that you miss will have all the notes, handouts and lecture slides posted on Minerva.

If you have problems from your lecturer or you get and scary letters from the university then email Dan Jones and he will sort it out for you just by sending your name to the Uni, providing your name is on his list of registered members! We are trying to change the culture here at Bath Spa university, but we can only do this with your help. Get involved with sports and societies as much as you can and then maybe the university will see how important it is for Wednesday afternoons to be free of lessons
