You'll find employer events, sessions from Just V, workshops from Careers, Business Support Office, the Students' Union and Study Skills Centre and a host of activities over the coming months.
What is Bath Spa Plus?
Well, it’s free, it’s for you and it’s here to help you acquire essential personal and professional skills whilst at Bath Spa and equip you with invaluable tools and techniques for life beyond university.
Bath Spa Plus is for you if you want to acquire new skills and brush up existing ones; spice up your CV and self-promotion; improve your learning; stimulate new ideas and new ways of thinking; enhance your employability; achieve your potential; network with employers and industry experts.
Your degree will, of course, set you apart from those who have not been to university and will be a key part of the package you’ll offer employers. However, with over 350,000 graduates entering the labour market each year, quite simply, a degree alone is not enough to secure a good job.
Employers will look at what else you have to offer, including the following:
• Communication skills
• Team-working and leadership skills
• Commercial awareness
• Literacy/numeracy
• Confidence
• … and a whole lot more!
You’ll probably already be developing many of these skills through your degree programmes, though often you won’t realise it! If you can’t explain the skills you have, you may struggle to land your dream job.
This is where Bath Spa Plus comes in.
Beyond your timetable, Bath Spa Plus has brought together key areas of the University to design a mouth-watering programme of interactive workshops, seminars and presentations along with a host of volunteering, work experience and networking opportunities to help you put your know-how in to practice. What’s more, at the end of each year, you’ll receive a certificate confirming your participation in the programme.
