European Voluntary Service (EVS) is open to all young people aged 18 -30 and gives volunteers the opportunity to spend between 2 - 12 months getting to know another country, another culture and another language by taking part in a project which contributes to the well-being of a local community. The scheme was created by the European Commission and is delivered through its Youth in Action programme.There are 1000s of volunteer projects available across Europe and beyond. EVS provides all funding for volunteers. This includes:Pre-departure training.
Applications can be accepted at any time of year; projects usually start 4 - 6 months after the application process is instigated. For further details, check out the EVS website.
