Bath Rugby: Voluntary Learning Support Assistants

Application deadline 5pm Friday 27^th November

Bath Rugby run an after school education scheme for local pupils aged from 8 – 14.  The scheme is part of a national programme called ‘Playing for Success’ www.bathrugby.com/community/playing_for_success.php  which uses sport to engage and inspire young people.  The after school club raises aspirations and motivates young people to achieve their full potential.  Children chose to attend the after-school education scheme for 3 hours every Tuesday for a period of 6 weeks. 

There are 2 places available on the scheme for Voluntary Learning Support Assistants.

•        One volunteer is required for 6 weeks from 6th Jan 2010 – 9th Feb 2010

•        Another volunteer is required for 6 weeks from 23rd Feb – 30th Mar

Volunteers will be expected to assist the teacher to work with the students helping them with maths & literacy, and creating an environment where their self-esteem and confidence can be raised.  All sessions take place at Bath Rugby Club where the curriculum is based around a professional sports environment.
