Recognition

You’ve volunteered, you’ve made a difference: what’s in it for you?

Work towards the Certificate in Volunteering Achievement (CVA) to keep track of your efforts, and demonstrate your commitment to future employers.

Certificate in Volunteering Achievement (CVA)

The CVA is designed to recognise the time and commitment you've made to volunteering and your own personal development (and it won’t create any extra work!)

You simply record the hours of volunteering you've done and the number of training courses you've attended over a 12 month period. The CVA is awarded at 3 levels:

  • Bronze: 25 hours of volunteering and 1 training course
  • Silver: 50 hours of volunteering (both on and off campus) & 2 training courses
  • Gold: 75 hours of volunteering (both on and off campus) & 2 training courses (one of which must be through the Bath Spa Plus programme or with a careers advisor)

All volunteering can count towards the award, but to get the Silver or Gold award the hours must come from a mixture of volunteering both on and off campus. Community activities must take place in Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire, Somerset or South Gloucestershire to be eligilble.

To take part, please pop up to reception in the Students’ Union at Newton Park to request a CVA record book. You choose which level you aim for and what timescale you want to work to. Once you have reached your goal, return your completed handbook to Just V for verification. We will post your certificate out to you in due course.
