Student Representation within the University is vital and everysubject should have at least one Student Academic Representative (StAR) per subject per year.
As a Student Academic Rep you have the opportunity to voice concerns of your fellow peers and to ensure that the student voice is heard from department level right up to the highest University Committee.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
As a Student Academic Rep you can:
Student Academic Representatives (StARs) can either be elected or volunteer to represent their subject at Staff/Student Liaison Committees. These committees meet at least once a term and are a discussion forum where staff meet with Student Academic Reps.
STUDENT REPRESENTATION & UNION SUPPORT
The Students Union is run by students for students. The SU is there to support and encourage student representation. What we provide:

When you leave university, it is widely recognised that employers are looking for more than just a qualification from graduates and prospective employees; they are looking for motivated individuals with proven skills. Extra-curricular activities are highly valued as an indication of wider life skills.
With this in mind, Bath Spa University Students’ Union is offering, to those who complete StAR training, a Skills Certificate to include in your CV/Portfolio.
