1. Go to the Welcome Party
This is your perfect chance to network and make new friends. Everyone should be there, and they will all be in the same boat as you, so don't be shy and have a great time.
2. Attend the events put on by the Students' Union
Your Freshers' Pass is your passport to a week of great entertainment. From Karaoke to comedy, Flirt to Cheesy Monkeys, there is something to for everyone to keep you amused. And having a cheap bar will also help the night run smoothly! A Freshers events time table will be available shortly.
3. Get to know your housemates
If you are living on campus, this should be fairly easy as our Freshers' Angels will be there on the first day helping to get everyone settled. Sit down with a cup or tea or a glass of wine (your choice) and talk to your new housemates, remember that they will be feeling just as nervous as you. These are the people that you will be spending the next academic year living with, so building bridges early on will make for an easy year.
4. Go to the Freshers Fair
Bring a bag, that's the best advice I can give to you on that! The Freshers' Fair will be your opportunity to sign-up to the various Clubs and Societies that run within the Students' Union. It is also a showcase for local businesses to try and entice you to come visit them, so be prepared for plenty of freebies and offers!
5. Get to know Bath
Whatever you have heard about Bath from other people will probably never match your experiences of the city. It's a good bet to have a look around town when you have some free time. The city has plenty to offer, big shops, small shops and shops being built. The temporary bus station is situated at The Ambury, just around the corner from the new Southgate development; remember your route back if you want to catch your bus!
