Sarah Dawes

Chief Executive Officer
Joined the team in 2012 with a background in cultural sector management. Sarah’s role is to develop our strategic vision, making sure everything is well run and focused on giving you the best possible University experience.


Sally Savage

Finance & Resources Manager
Sally looks after the Union’s finances, making sure everything is properly accounted for. She also looks after our records, personnel and health and safety procedures. She is the detail queen!

Shirley Kelly

Reception & Administration Assistant
Shirley is often the first person to greet you at reception and is the source of all knowledge about where to go and who can help! Shirley is the person to see if you need work copying and binding or to buy bus passes, gym membership, event tickets, book a room in the Union or a vehicle or even hire equipment for the Walled Garden!


Elizabeth Creevy

Student Engagement Manager
Liz supports the voice of students and is responsible for the democratic processes of the Union including the Students' Union elections. Liz manages the Union's Advice service which provides independent advice to students through the Advice Centre. She is passionate about working with students and has had a variety of roles within a couple Students' Unions over the last 10 years.


Rachel Smith

Representation & Advice Co-ordinator
Rachel has completed both her BA and MA in History at Bath Spa and joined the team in 2017. She is the main point of contact for Course Reps and supports them to represent Bath Spa students. Along with Liz, you can also contact Rachel for independent advice on academic matters, housing, well-being or finance through the Students' Union Advice Centre.


Dan Tinkler

Student Experience Manager

Dan moved to Bath Spa in September 2017 after years in another Students' Union and experience running student committees and volunteering himself. Dan oversees our Student Experience Team where you may get involved in Activities and Opportunities outside your course as well as the Gym. This includes supporting volunteers through training and skills recognition. Contact him for anything you want to know in this area.

He is also the UK Rock Paper Scissors Champion 2014!


Colin Clarke

Sports & Activities Co-ordinator
Colin has a background in the fitness industry; his role is to coordinate the Students’ Union sports clubs and sports societies’ activities through the provision of support, guidance, training and administration. He is also responsible for the development and growth of activities and opportunities on offer for Bath Spa students.


Harriet Clark

Student Opportunities Co-ordinator
New to the team this year - Hattie's role is to support and develop exciting opportunities for students to get involved in outside of their studies. She works with interest and campaign societies, student media and student-led volunteering projects and events. If you have an idea and want to make it a reality then Hattie is the one to speak to.


Simon Antrobus

Marketing and Communications Manager

Simon is another former Bath Spa student. He makes sure you have the right information to make the most of every opportunity whilst you’re here  - from the website, newsletter, poster campaigns, Freshers’ fairs and student guides. He also supports the SpaLife team to give you that essential student view on the world.

Diane Starling

Bar, Café & Events Manager
Di is responsible for making sure these very important areas run smoothly and for bringing you events throughout the year – including the ever popular Freshers’ and Summer Ball. Di also works with students to showcase the best of Bath Spa talent so if you have a desire to step onto the stage – at the SU or at the big events Di is the person to talk to!


Becky Bostock

Assistant Manager Bar & Events
Becky leads the Bar team and ensures it is a friendly and relaxing space for all students. She helps organise events in the Bar and keeps everything running smoothly - whether you’re just popping in for something to eat, or staying for a show.


The Bar and Kitchen Team

This team are the hard-working staff behind everything the Bar & Kitchen has to offer. From a hot meal or a drink, pool or foosball with your mates, live music from Coffee House Sessions, the latest football match on the big screen, or any of the variety of student-led events they host throughout the year, the Bar & Kitchen team have you covered.

Ruth Wheeler

Retail Manager

Ruth is the Union’s longest serving employee and has been running the shop for over 25 years, seeing it grow from stationery and snacks to groceries, organics, newspapers, hoodies, mugs, batteries… She also has the naughtiest giggle on campus!


Sue, Carol, Toni & the Shop Team

Our fabulous shop team ensure the SU shop is full of a great range of everyday groceries and essentials at really affordable prices. They stock everything from fresh fruit and veg to stationery, hoodies, sandwiches, Newton Farm meats, eggs, bread, hats, toiletries, frozen goods, organics, Fairtrade produce and of course chocolates and treats! If there is something we don't stock - just ask!

Greg Newport

Gym Manager

Greg is our health and fitness champion, providing tips on healthy lifestyles and developing opportunities and classes in the gym and across the University campuses. With an extensive background in strength and conditioning as well as nutrition, Greg is more than happy to answer any questions you may have and offer any support you may need to reach your goals!


Gym Instructors

Our REPS trained fitness team are on hand most days to ensure your trip to the Gym is enjoyable and rewarding. They are always able to give advice on getting the most from the equipment on offer, whether you just want to tone up, have a  specific training goal in mind, or just want someone to make sure you are ‘doing things right’...they are your people to go to!
