The chance to become a student trustee at the Students’ Union is an exciting opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to make a positive difference to the lives of students at the University. Being a trustee is a voluntary role, which will add significant experience to your CV of helping to lead a business with an estimated annual turnover of £1.4m.
Student trustees must be a student at the time of their appointment and continue to be a student during their term of office.
A vacancy has arisen for a student trustee to join our Board for the remainder of the academic year (to June 2018). The post holder would be a member of the Union’s Board of Trustees and the Finance & Resources Committee. This will mean attendance at approximately 5 meetings scheduled for the year ahead and reading papers in preparation for meetings.
You should run for this role if you:
- Want to ensure that the Union is well run and manages its resources in the best interests of students
- Want to take active role in ensuring that the experience of Bath Spa students is the best that it can be
- Have an interest in leadership and business management
Key areas of responsibility
- Taking an active role in the Finance & Resources Committee
- Ensuring the Union uses its money and resources sensibly
- Monitoring the performance of the Union
- Undertaking duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Union’s constitution, bylaws and legislation
