Why do you volunteer?
I volunteer because I want to do something worthwhile for other people. I have so much to be thankful for, so giving time to help and support others is really important to me.
What have you gained from volunteering/ How have you benefited from volunteering?
Volunteering has given me a wider perspective on life, focusing less on myself and more on the people I volunteer for. I have gained listening skills and the awareness that the little things matter too.
Why is volunteering important (to you)?
To me, volunteering is a practice of selflessness. It’s a chance to think less about something going on in my own head and more about the person or the task in front of me, which I think is really important.
What advice would you give to a prospective volunteer?
Volunteer doing something that puts your passions and the needs of someone or something else into one, that way you are able to do something you love while giving to something else.
