Hello, I'm Danny and I am your Vice President Activities.
One thing everyone studying at Spa has in common is that they are all here to further their education. However, achieving the actual degree is only part of the university experience. Getting involved and taking advantage of every opportunity has proven year after year to make university life and your time as a student a more enjoyable one.
Joining a sports club or society will not only help you escape the everyday stresses of academic work but it can also increase your employaility after you graduate. At Bath Spa we have over 70 different clubs and societies, plenty for you to choose from; each with its own unique offering. If you cannot find one you are interested in or feel like we are missing something then you can always start up your own.
SpaLife is our amazing student led multi-media group. They cover T.V, Radio and print and are always on the look out for budding film makers, photographers, journalists, writers and presenters. You'll probably find them around campus events snapping memories or filming Coffee House Sessions in the Students' Union Bar - and do not hesitate to get involved.
We have a range of volunteering and RAG (Raising and Giving) opportunities for you to choose from. This gives you an opportunity to engage with communities and meet like-minded people who love to interact and give back to the community.
This year I have three trips lined up for you. We are heading to Disneyland in November, Amsterdam in March, and then sports tour in April. I will be attending all three, so I hope to see you there!
If you have any questions/queries/comments/memes please don't hesitate to drop me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org or alternatively head upstairs in the SU building and lets have a chat.
My one piece of advice is to try something new, fully embrace your three years at Spa, because believe me, it goes by far too quickly.
