Everyone in this society has a voice that is heard.
In the 2019/20 academic year we meet fortnightly on Wednesday evenings in CE. 101 from 18:00-20:00.
We aim to:
share tips and tricks for a more sustainable lifestyle to increase wellbeing.
promote conservation by working with the university, the grounds team and other societies
influence legislation on a local and national level
Our meetings revolve around activities that promote positive change.
Events we have hosted include a clothes swap at the SU, a plastic-free Christmas wrapping event in Commons, a letter writing event in the foyer where students were able to tell councillors about the need for a Climate Emergency.
Co-hosted events have included community tree planting at Innox Park, and socials with other societies including the roller-disco with Bath People and Planet.
As individuals in this committee, we believe that passion for a topic is the most important thing, and what topic is better than positive change in our own life as well as in others? Therefore, we have attended many Extinction Rebellion events and Youth Strikes 4 Climate to raise awareness of the true emergency that is the Climate Crisis.
This is where you can come to seek solace and where you can place your efforts into benefitting the planet.
