Volunteering

Give a little... Gain a lot!

We have a range of volunteering opportunities tailored to suit you, regardless of how much time you can spare.  As well as making a real difference, volunteering is a fantastic way to make new friends, have fun and develop skills. You give a little and get a lot back!

If you have a few days: Why not join The Good Stuff Society? They organise and run volunteering projects such as Halloween Parties for children with disabilities, tea dances for Age UK, and Christmas hampers for isolated older people. They also run great socials!

If you want to do something regularly: Have a browse through the Voluntary Opportunities advertised on Careerhub (you'll need to sign in). These opportunities often (but not always) run for a few hours each week and many can be flexible around your timetable. You could be helping at a shelter for homeless people, running play sessions for children, helping a charity with a marketing project etc.

Not sure where to start? No problem! We understand that it may seem a bit daunting or you may need some help to choose the right opportunity for you. Email the team at the SU to arrange a time to meet at Newton Park, Sion Hill or Corsham Court to chat through the range of options.
