Student Volunteering Week



On 17th-21st February 2020 Bath Spa Students' Union will be hosting Student Volunteering Week, a national campaign held across the UK. The week is all about celebrating student civic action in the local community and on campus and promoting the fantastic benefits that you as students bring to the Bath community.

There are many ways that you can get involved in the week from micro-volunteering to short one-off activities, to finding out how you can get involved in volunteering longer term.

We will have local charities and organisations coming on to campus and smaller microvolunteering activities in the SU bar and Locksbrook. 


Below is the schedule for the week:

Tuesday 18th February- Snowdrop planting at Sydney Gardens, 14:00-16:00

Interested in gardening and being outside? We are teaming up with the Sydney Gardens project during our student volunteering week, to offer students the chance to get involved with planting snowdrops  in Sydney Gardens!

Spaces are limited and are available on a first-come-first-served basis, sign up here-

Wednesday 19th February, Volunteering Fair, 10:00-14:00, Commons

A chance to find out about volunteering opportunities locally and internationally. There will be five organisations at the event: Think Pacific, Genesis Trust, Julian House, Lions Clubs International and BANES Council's waste services team.

Thursday 20th February, SU Rocks, 10:00-14:00, SU bar 

Come along to the SU bar and take part in some micro-volunteering. We will be painting kindness pebbles to hide around campus. 

Friday 21st February, SU Rocks, 10:00-14:00, G18 Locksbrook

Come along to Locksbrook and take part in some micro-volunteering. We will be painting kindness pebbles to hide around campus.

There is no commitment involved beyond the week and many of our activities will be on a sign-up/drop-in basis. However if you'd like to get more involved in volunteering past the week we would be very happy to support you.
